Arkady Dvorkovich holds in Kambarka inter-regional meeting on development of the road network

Prospects of development of the road network, and strengthen transport linkages of regions in the framework of the implementation of concession agreement for the construction of bridges over the rivers Kama and Bui were the main subject of the interregional meeting January 12 held in Kambarka Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich.

It was also attended by the Minister of transport of Russia Maxim Sokolov, the Head of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Brechalov and representatives of the authorities of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Perm Krai and Kirov region, in charge of the road sector.

Recall that in the Kambarka district implemented the first in Russia regional transport project public-private partnership – construction of bridges over the rivers Kama and Bui. Complex bridges provided year-round transport links for geographically isolated of Net, reducing by 150 km route between Izhevsk and Ufa, and was part of a transport corridor "Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod – Kazan – Yekaterinburg". The development of its transit potential is one of the priorities of the transport strategy of Russia discussed at the meeting.

Opening the meeting, Arkady Dvorkovich noted that the Kamsky bridge – starting transport project implemented on a public-private partnership is significant in the scale of the Udmurt Republic and Russia. "The traffic on the bridges has begun, roads are given in the qualitative state. Now we need to discuss with the representatives of the neighboring regions on how to move forward and fully realize how this interregional project. And how to solve those problems which remain with the financial and organizational point of view. And what lessons should be learned for further development of the transport system as a whole and the use of PPP mechanisms, in particular concessions," - said Deputy Prime Minister.
